Fishing reserves in Cuenca

Cuenca currently has very few preserves that we could ratify as intensive; Thus, the following are very close to the city:

  • Tower: On its website you can find all the information pertaining to the regulations of its preserve, where its working season, the prices of the respective permits as well as the fees and sections stand out.
  • Roman bridge: Like the previous one, its website and Facebook page offer all the information relevant to the preserve. Who to contact for the proper permits, regulations and other activities related to it.
  • San Rafael (in front of the Camping): a preserve that also offers a website and the possibility of being in their WhatsApp group. Its website is very interesting because it offers the dates of repopulation and the proper request for permits for fishing.

The most interesting thing about these preserves is that seek to stimulate their partners in active participation within the same. All this without ever losing sight of the laws and regulations that must be followed for the conservation of the environment, biosafety regulations, given the Covid and the quarantine we have gone through and, above all, the conservation of the biodiversity of its waters.

Changes in the regulation of fishing preserves in Cuenca

La Common trout fishing (to mention one of the most beloved and sought-after species that justifies many of the preserves) has been basically restricted to "fishing without death" in almost all the rivers, this except in those where there is a repopulation system. As has happened, for example, in the Uña fish farm, this, in order to be able to practice sports, is the section from the Valdecabras bridge to the Bowling Game. The same happens in the sector that goes from Yémeda to the Guadazaón river.

Let us remember that these preserves only allow hooks without harpoons and the use of live baits is not allowed. In addition, the maximum quota includes just four trout. Let's review some more aspects regarding the fishing reserves in Cuenca:

  • In the reservoirs of Guadiela and La Ruidera, in the latter the fishing of cyprinids is authorized. Here the allowed baits are of the vegetable type.
  • In Laguna de Uña the use of ducks is prohibited.
  • In the Alarcón Reservoir itself, the use of live or dead fish is prohibited
  • In relation to the Guadazaón there is fishing authorization with the death of several species and the trout quota is 4 specimens
