Types of Hooks for Surfcasting

Hooks for surfcasting
There is a lot of variety in the hook market and this will depend on the tastes and preferences of each weigher. Before pointing out some specific ones, there are two types of hooks that are good for surfcasting:
- The sharp at their points which are ideal because they are very sharp and easily nailed, but, on the contrary, they wear out quickly with the edge of rocks.
- Those of standard type, which are very resistant to scratches and bumps, but are not so sharp, however, they are very powerful for surfcasting fishing.
Gamakatsu Hooks
Gamakatsu is one of the leaders in hooks. Just the name of it is synonymous with trust and, for surfcasting hooks, you can perfectly trust any model you find. Our favorites:
- Gamakatsu LS 3310F: excellent option for fishing for sea bream, bream or pageles. For surfcasting fishing on the beach it is really effective. They are made of carbon, resistant to rust and we can usually find packages of 11 units with varied numbers depending on the fish of interest.
- Gamakatsu LS 1050N: another example of the brand's hooks that come in handy for surfcasting, in this case we have them in a nickel-plated presentation and with a long, straight leg hook style.
Hayabusa Hooks
Another of the Japanese brands, leaders in fishing equipment, Hayabusa has excellent hooks for surfcasting fishing. A sample of these:
- Habayusa Hibari H.HBR289: another excellent sample of hooks for surfcasting, one of the brand's favorites for being made with an excellent and very strong material: steel and carbon. Although it is of a classic style, it is very useful since it has a clean and fast penetration.
- Habayusa KAJ156 Koajidouchi: As one of the models preferred by athletes, this model consists of a flat type design. Like the previous one, they are made of steel and carbon.
