Trapping is considered a type of artisanal fishing that seeks to acquire a large number of pieces for consumption. The traps can be intended to catch various species, be it fish, lobsters or crabs, for example.
These traps or gear seek get the fish into the device, but they it's hard to get out of it. The aim is to do it in areas where fishing with a rod is not productive and when there is the possibility of catching specimens for study (without much handling or stress when removing them) or consumption.

Sea fishing traps
We generally speak here of the type of traps that can be used in bodies of salt water, and they tend to be larger in size, just because space allows. Additionally, they need to be made of a material that resists the conditions of space, that is, salinity, waves and others that can affect it.

They are usually similar in design to those of cephalopods and are used to catch both sea and crayfish. The latter, let us not forget, are usually the Americans and a sign that they are the ones allowed for fishing in Spain.
