Ticket for Fishing Catalonia

As a general rule, inland fishing carries slightly more specific and extensive regulations than fishing in coastal waters. Many of the inland waters are under a free fishing regime, and it is only necessary to have a valid fishing license from the community where the practice is carried out.

However, there are spaces called Controlled Fishing Zones (ZPC) where it is necessary apply for a special permit per fishing day pTo be able to make a day without problems and attached to the law.

Controlled Fishing Zone in Catalonia

En Catalunya There are various agencies that regulate this activity and where to request the respective fishing license and fishing tickets for the regulated areas of interest:

  • Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Action
  • Territorial delegations or dependencies of the Department of the Environment and Habitatge
  • Catalan Federation of Sport Fishing and Casting
  • Or in the provinces, in the brotherhoods of the fishing clubs or preserves in charge

Now, in Catalonia, continental fishing is also highly appreciated, but unlike the coast, there are sectors such as stretches of rivers or areas of some reservoirs where fishing must be more closely watched given the overexploitation that they once suffered and care with the species that make life there.

In many bodies of water throughout the autonomous community there are these ZPCs, for example:

  • In some sections of the Ebro river
  • RIBA-ROJA Reservoir Zones
  • Santa Anna Reservoir Zones
  • Canelles Reservoir Areas

Tickets for fishing contests

Let us remember that you are ZPC have a maximum daily quota of tickets of fishing for visitors, not counting what is reserved for the locals and for those members of the clubs that help to monitor and maintain the preserve itself.

At the level of competitions, it is necessary for the association or club to ask the Catalan Federation of Sport Fishing and Casting for the respective permits to carry out the activity on the specific dates and sections of interest. All the activity must be reported and especially the number of participants, since this may condition the acceptance or not of the request.

Considerations of the ZPC for the practice in their waters

There are various considerations that must be taken into account and that are recurrent in these ZPC. Let's review some of the most common:

  • In general, fishing in these ZPCs, as well as in some other free fishing sections, is, in the community of Catalonia, with a catch-and-release regime, that is, without killing.
  • The quota and minimum size of catches must be verified in each ZPC.
  • It is also necessary to verify the species that are free of fishing of those expressly prohibited.
  • The rate corresponding to each ZPC to obtain the corresponding permit and fishing ticket is set by the organization that governs and controls the place.
  • In general, permits in some ZPCs must be made 15 days in advance.
  • Fishermen can apply for several permits at the same time, but from different ZPCs.
  • In case of a change in weather or water conditions that may affect the safety of the fisherman, the respective permit may be suspended and a new date for fishing and obtaining the ticket must be consulted.
