The continental license has a low fee. The basic annual fee is €7.98 and you can obtain it for 1, 3, or 5 years. If you fish for trout (trout waters), a surcharge applies:
| Continental License | Fee |
|---|---|
| Basic · 1 year | €7.98 |
| Basic · 3 years | €24.42 |
| Basic · 5 years | €40.70 |
| Trout surcharge (per year) | +€4 |
| Temporary (15 days) | €15.61 |
| 65 years or older | Free |
| Under 16 years old | −50% |
Basic annual fee (€7.98) confirmed by the Junta; amounts for multiple years and the temporary license are indicative (confirm when processing). We do not charge anything: the fee is paid on the official website.
The NIR is the Registration Number of the Andalusian Register of Hunting and Continental Fishing. Since 2024, it replaces the old exam: first you register in the register and you get your NIR (usually takes 2-3 days), and with that NIR you can obtain the license. It is free and done only once.
Renewal is the same online process: with your NIR and your details, choose a new period and pay the fee (0 € if you are 65 or older). "Renew fishing license online Junta de Andalucía" is one of the most searched: it takes minutes, also without a digital certificate.
Andalusia is part of the inter-autonomous agreement 2026. If you plan to fish in rivers of other communities (Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, Madrid…), a single inter-autonomous license (€25/year) is valid in 10 communities. See if it benefits you.
From trout in the mountains to the large reservoirs of black bass:
Want to fish at sea (Costa del Sol, Cádiz, Almería…)? You need the maritime recreational license, which is a different process.
The license is the same throughout Andalusia (issued by the Junta), but people search for it by their province. Choose yours to see where to fish (reservoirs, rivers, and coast) in each:
