Who gets the fishing license for free in Asturias?
The following are exempt from paying the fee:
Seniors over 65 and retirees.
People with recognized disability ≥33%.
Under 16: reduced fee (€5.66 trout / €11.11 salmon).
Under 14: can fish accompanied by an adult with a license, without their own license.
How to obtain the fishing license in Asturias
You can do it online with a digital certificate (the official procedure AUTO0026T01 requires high-level identification) or in person at a registration office. It is managed by the Wildlife Service of the Principality and can be requested year-round.
Have your ID/NIE/passport and your digital certificate ready; check above if it’s free for you.
Pay the fee with form 046 (€0 if you are exempt) and keep the receipt.
Submit the application (standard form) in the Electronic Registry of the Principality.

Is insurance required to fish in Asturias?
For recreational fishing with your license, no separate insurance is required. If you are going to competitions or want civil liability and accident coverage, the federative license (from the Fishing Federation) includes it; check with the federation. The Principality license and the fishing area permit are the only mandatory requirements for fishing.
