To fish in Barcelona —in the rivers and reservoirs inland (Llobregat, Ter, Sau) or at sea—you need the fishing license from Catalonia (issued by the Generalitat (Gencat)). It costs €27.10/year (€19.80 without catch) and is free for retirees, seniors over 65, minors, and people with disabilities. Here’s a summary and where to fish in the province.
In Catalonia, a single recreational license covers river and surface sea; the underwater license is separate. It is obtained at the Catalonia level:
| If you are going to fish in… | You need |
|---|---|
| River, reservoir, or surface sea | Catalonia recreational license |
| Underwater fishing | Underwater license (separate) |
| Retirees, seniors over 65, minors, and people with disabilities | Free |
